Casa do Valle Grande Escolha Vinho Verde 2011

Wow.  It's been a while, hasn't it?  I wish I could say that the last month has been filled with all sorts of fun diversions, but it has mostly been little life things keeping me away.  Back aches, colds, back to school (okay, I don't go to school, but the beginning of September still feels funny), not to mention the end of summer chores that need to get done.  Although there were a few days in New York City that were really nice....

Regardless of these distractions, I have still managed to drink a bit of wine.  One bottle I found myself buying time and again was Casa do Valle Grande Escolha Vinho Verde 2011 ($14.95).  This Portuguese wine is the perfect backyard sipper, thanks to lovely floral, pineapple and peach aromas.  It is medium bodied with a great mouthfeel and fresh acidity.  I could use some of that in my cup right about now...

Thankfully, things seem to be slowing down again, so I hope to see you back here soon!

  1. This summer has been funny like that. Maybe because it's been so warm and sunny. Great wine pick.
